Life has been so hectic and crazy lately. When my husband Billy suggested a getaway for my birthday weekend it was just what I needed. He picked The West Wing Boutique Hotel simply because of the relaxing, zen atmosphere. It ended up being a great choice.
West Wing Boutique Hotel
Even though we were in Tampa, all I wanted to do was stay in the room all weekend and vegetate. I had no interest in going out. Seriously. Not even for food. We ordered in from local places and ate in the room. One was TGIFridays and the other was a fabulous Asian fusion bar and grill called East. I had a salmon fillet sandwich, cooked and seasoned to perfection. It was so delicious I had it again the following night.
Right in the middle of the West Wing Boutique Hotel was a beautiful zen garden with stone and wood features, greenery and quiet places to sit or meditate. The focal point of this garden was a magnificent waterfall. The garden area was a pleasant surprise, plus it was the only thing that got me out of the room the entire weekend.
We spent two nights there and I will definitely stay again the next time I’m in Tampa. When we got home I celebrated my birthday with my family. My birthday cake was delicious!
Looks like a great place to stay! I’ve never been to a boutique hotel, and it sounds like you had a wonderful time there.
OOOH that zen garden looks perfect for me today. It is 8 degrees here and feels like minus 2. You definitely made me want to hop on a plane and visit here. Do you know if they allow well-behaved small dogs?
That is my idea of a relaxing weekend! I wonder how much reading I would get in! Also, I really miss those publix cakes!
