Valentine’s Day is named for Saint Valentine, who is the patron saint of love. It’s a day set aside to show love to the important people in our lives.

Surprise the children in your family with Valentine’s Day gifts and treats that are fun and encourage family time.

For your convenience, I will link to certain Valentine gifts for kids using my Amazon affiliate link. As an Amazon Associate, I earn a commission from qualifying purchases. Thank you.

Valentine’s Day Books for Kids

Young children love reading and holiday-themed books make for a special gift. Valentine-themed stories starring their favorite characters, like Clifford the Big Red Dog, Paw Patrol and Franklin.

As you know, reading books together promotes family togetherness. Let one of these cute stories be a part of a Valentine Day bedtime story or in our family, during after-dinner snack.

Board Games for a Valentine’s Day Family Game Night

Celebrate Valentine’s Day by spending time with loved ones. There is no better way to do this than a family game night. Give your littles a new board game and plan to have a Valentine’s Day family game night.

To further emphasize the spirit of love and cooperation, look for cooperative board games that have the whole family working as a team to win the game together.

Yes, Flowers Are For Kids!

Flowers are a traditional Valentine’s gift for women, but children also enjoy flowers or even a small plant. Girls and boys alike would feel special if they received a small bouquet of inexpensive flowers.

Good flowers for children would be flowers that tend to last a long time with minimal care. Look for carnations, daisies, and chrysanthemums.

The Obvious – Valentine’s Day Candy and Treats

Nothing beats Most Valentine candy, cookies, and other treats. To stay as healthy as possible look for treats that are made with all-natural ingredients and avoid artificial colors and flavors.

The options are endless!

Movie Tickets for a Valentine’s Family Night

A family night out at the movies makes a special Valentine’s Day treat. A night at the movies can be a special one-on-one outing take the whole family along!

Make the evening last longer with a local ice cream shop or bakery for a sweet after-movie treat.

I hope these ideas helped! I’ll share what I bought for my family in another post. I like buying a few things and gathering them in a Valentine’s tote that I reuse from each to year.
