The Village and the Lower East Side have always been my favorite areas of Manhattan. I worked in several stores and businesses there throughout my 20’s including Manic Panic and Unique Clothing Warehouse. I also hung out there with friends, going to see the midnight showing of Rocky Horror at the 8th Street Playhouse, hanging out in Washington Square Park or going to CBGB’s to watch local bands. There was an energy in the Village that was unlike anywhere else.
One of our trips back home (we live in Florida now), my husband and I took our two daughters (our son wasn’t with us on this trip) to the Village to show them some of the places we loved.
My favorite place to shop – Trash & Vaudeville!
My daughter and I after we did some shopping and she changed into the skirt we bought.
If I moved to Manhattan and money was no issue (ha!) I would LOVE to live in Greenwich Village. A secret dream of mine.
Also, I’m pretty sure this was the neighborhood that Carrie Bradshaw lived in from Sex and the City…. right?! Gorgeous.
Thanks for the walk down memory lane. Well actually, it’s more like a walk down St Marks Place. 🙂
Oh that was a good trip! I loved that skirt so much as well. Haha
Your day with your daughter looks like it was so much fun! We have never explored New York and having only been there twice, we have never had a chance to explore the quieter more scenic parts esp the parks.
Looks like a great day with your daughter. I have never been to NYC. One day soon I hope!
What a fun shopping trip! I have never been to the village, but will have to go on my next visit to NYC!
What a fun outing!
It looks like you guys had an amazing time! My brother-in-law is headed that way next week – so jealous!
What a nice place to visit! So many things to see there that is really interesting!
Looks like you had a fun time. Next time I head down to that part of NYC, I want to check out this store. Always love a new find!
Love Washington Square Park, did you get to hear Colin play his piano?
I need to get into the city soon before we go back to Florida.
Linda
I love listening to live music in the park. It looked like a lovely day to go traveling around town.
Oh my goodness, the last time I was on the east coast, specifically NY… Gah! 2006?? It’s been so long and to be honest, I am not even sure I can go back – I have way too much history over there, it would just be so strange!
I LOVE NYC. I have not been in over 10 years, I look forward to taking my kids someday. It is my favorite place I have ever traveled!
That place looks interesting.
Very nice pics of the park.
