Summer drinks for kids
Orange Float
4 cups orange soda
Lime or rainbow sherbet
Fill each glass with 1 cup of orange soda (leaving at least two inches at the top of each glass). Top with two scoops of sherbet. Drink with a straw.
Tropical Punch
1 (46 fluid ounces) can of pineapple juice
1 (6 ounces) can of frozen orange juice concentrate, thawed
2 liters lemon-lime flavored soda
Combine pineapple juice and orange juice concentrate into a gallon container. Shake to mix and slowly pour in the lemon-lime soda. You may need to let the fizz settle and then return to pouring. This will fill up the gallon.
Freeze overnight. Let it start to thaw 2 hours before serving. Serve slushy.
Raspberry Lemonade
12 oz can of frozen raspberry lemonade concentrate
3 cups water
3/4 teaspoon lime juice
12 oz. lemon-lime flavored soda
1 cup crushed ice
Combine raspberry lemonade concentrate, water and lime juice. Mix well. Stir in lemon-lime soda and crushed ice.
Berry Citrus Slushie
6 oz can of frozen orange juice concentrate
6 fluid ounces water
1 cup fresh blueberries
4 cubes ice
Combine orange juice concentrate, water, blueberries and ice cubes in a blender and blend until slushy.
All of these are great treats for the summer! I especially love the Fruit Skewers! 🙂
What a great round-up! I’ve never heard of a Chocolate Egg Cream before, but it sure sounds tasty…I’ll have to give it a try sometime! Thanks so much for sharing this with us at Merry Monday! We hope you’ll join us again this week! 🙂
Egg cream sodas are on my top 10 thing I miss after moving out of Brooklyn. At least now I know how to make it myself. Thanks for sharing Joanne.
these are some great treats! my kids would probably flip for all 8!
These all look delicious and all so easy to make! Seriously, I can handle some of these (says the lady who doesn’t make much).
This is an awesome idea! Instead of meat, lets have fruit on a stick make it look pretty, and healthy as well. Love it,
I have never hear of Chocolate Egg Cream. Sounds amazing. I love doing fruit kabobs for BBQs in the summer. Adds so much to the table.
These all sound amazing! I need to make those fruit skewers – looks like the perfect summer treat.
All great treats to eat/drink on a hot summer’s day – and super simple to make. Now I’m craving an orange float!
These all look and sound delicious. I love adding fruit into the kids snacks and I’m going to try some Fruit Skewers soon. I think the kids would really like them and I’m sure I will as well.
Oh I have to try your version of tropical punch – I’ve always used Hawaiian punch and sherbet for this.
All of these are great. I really like slushies in the summer.
Pinning! These are great and a lot of them look really super simple and easy, which is great for me & my two four year old “helpers”.

I know this says summer treats, but I would totally try these out throughout the entire year! They all look so tasty! 🙂
