Dinosaur World (Plant City Florida)

My youngest son will be seven tomorrow and we surprised him with a day at the Plant City Dinosaur World in Florida. My eight-year-old daughter didn’t know about it either so they were both super excited!!

We explored the park and all its cool dinosaur exhibits. The park itself is laid out very well and I didn’t feel like I was walking around in circles – lol. Since we homeschool, we had the park almost to ourselves for quite a while which is always nice.

As dinosaur exhibits in Florida go, Plant City Dinosaur World was reasonably priced. I found it interesting that they don’t serve food. You can pack a lunch or they have a nearby place that delivers pizza, which was quite good. We sat down at one of their picnic tables and relaxed to eat there. After about 15 minutes, a little two-year-old girl came walking up to our table. We looked up to see if we saw any parents looking for her and didn’t. My husband took her by the hand and was able to find her parents who were having lunch on the other side of the covered picnic table area. They didn’t realize their two-year-old daughter was missing???!!!

My two children did a gemstone excavation and got to take home two big bags of gems. They have it set up like a mountain and you have to sift through running water for gems and minerals! They have a variety of bags but we got their best seller; Lucky Strike which was $11.

I love the two pictures of my husband in the dinosaur’s mouth. I have pictures of him in similar positions from other theme parks we’ve been to. lol

The Boneyard was something they really enjoyed! It’s a huge sandbox with the skeleton of a Stegasaurus buried underneath. They give you tools like brushes and shovels to help excavate it.

They also had a lot of fun at the Fossil Dig! You can keep any three fossils you want as you use shovels to dig through the same tables. It was worth the extra $3.

I highly recommend Dinosaur World in Plant City, Florida for any child in your family who loves dinosaurs. It was not too overwhelming ad we were able to keep a nice, steady pace and not feel rushed.
