I’ve always told my kids that we’re lucky because there are more good and kind people in our world than there are hateful people. Just because we hear and read more about hateful people doesn’t mean that they’re the majority. I’ve told them that there’s more that brings people together than there is that divides us because I want them to see the good in people and be optimistic about their fellow human beings.
I also told them when they hear or read a story about those good and kind people they should never say that it restored their faith in humanity because nothing should ever make them lose faith in their fellow human beings in the first place.
In this segment of On The Road with Steve Hartman you’ll meet Curtis Jenkins, who is an elementary school bus driver in Dallas Texas. Every day he shuttles kids back and forth to school and he makes sure it’s a ride they’ll never forget.
From kind and encouraging words to gifts from the heart, Curtis has become an important and constant figure in these young children’s lives. He’s an amazing role model for these kids and hopefully, as they grow they’ll remember how he made them feel and pass it on to others.
Kudos to you Mr. Jenkins!
